Privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Wingpaw Studios", "we", "us") handles personal information in connection with this website (www.example.com) and the emails you send us.

The short version

  • This site has no contact forms, no user accounts and no advertising.
  • We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't sell your personal information.
  • The only personal information we receive directly is what you choose to send us by email.
  • We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that show us aggregate traffic, not who you are.

Information we receive

Emails you send us

If you email us, for example to ask about a project or to report a security issue, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message, any attachments, and anything in your email signature such as your company or phone number. You decide what to share; please don't send sensitive personal information we don't need.

Technical information processed by our host

This site is hosted on Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse and attacks. We don't use this information to identify you.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic, such as page views, referring sites, countries and browser types. It doesn't use cookies or local storage, and we only see aggregate statistics, not information about individual visitors.

Cookies

We don't set any cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from malicious traffic; these are not used for tracking or advertising.

How we use your information

We use the information in emails you send us to:

  • reply to your message and answer your questions;
  • discuss, scope and quote potential projects;
  • communicate with you if you become a client;
  • investigate and respond to security or accessibility reports; and
  • meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations.

We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you ask us to.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on compliance with our legal obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry emails for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for up to [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 24 months] after our last contact with you. If you become a client, we keep project correspondence for the length of our relationship and afterwards for as long as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. When we no longer need your information, we delete it.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers that process information on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, content delivery, security and cookie-free Web Analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • [EMAIL PROVIDER]: email hosting, which stores the emails you send us. See [EMAIL PROVIDER]'s privacy policy at [EMAIL PROVIDER PRIVACY POLICY URL].

These providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, under their own security and data protection commitments.

We don't sell your data

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We only disclose it to the service providers listed above, when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you send us, including encrypted connections and multi-factor authentication on our accounts. Read more about oursecurity practices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to or restrict how we use it. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you are.

To make a request, email privacy@example.com. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address we have on file. We will respond within [30] days, or sooner if the law requires. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page.
